Welcome to my little piece of the world-wide-web, I'm glad you could make it.
My name is Meredith Johnson, and it appears that you have stumbled across my website. I spent my four years at Auburn University learning the in's and out's of the Public Relations world, and even read a few German novels along the way. What you have before you is a conglomeration of projects, which highlight the various skills I have learned over the years. Please take some time to look around, I hope you find something you like!
But before you go, I feel as if I should properly introduce myself.
For starters, I spent the first 21 years of my life in the Bluegrass State - Kentucky. I accredit my parents and active childhood with my extreme case of extroversion and constant desire for adventure. Growing up with a parent in the airline industry, I came down with a bad case of the travel bug at an early age. As it turns out, there's no cure.
Throughout my life I have chosen to spend my time and money on seeing the world beyond my front door. I believe travel teaches us lessons that can only be learned when we venture out of our comfort zone and into the unknown. Many of these lessons have become invaluable pieces of the person I am today. My decision to take a gap year after high school has definitely had the largest impact on my life thus far. I received the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship my senior year of high school and moved to southern Germany after graduation. During my time there, I not only learned the language - which is no small task - but I learned how to immerse myself in a culture that was not my own. And most importantly, I learned how to be a big sister and role model to my four host sisters - a welcomed change after being an only child for 18 years.
I'm sure I have left out a few things, like my over-the-top enthusiasm for Auburn football, my belief in the power of a good book and good music, and my love for the mountains, but those are just the details.
I hope you enjoy your time exploring, come back and visit!
